Tevva electric truck receives necessary approvals from the EU government
Tevva has received the necessary permits from the European Union government, allowing its electric trucks to be used within the EU. In addition, now the manufacturer of electric vehicles from Great Britain will be able to produce its products in the territory of the European Union.
The company plans to soon start production of its truck with a permitted maximum weight of 7.5 tons, running on batteries. A hydrogen-fueled version of the vehicle is also in the process of development. The vehicle from Tevva is equipped with a 105 kWh battery. The car on a single charge can cover a distance of 226 km.
Logistics operator Expect Distribution, DIY retailer Travis Perkins and other companies are Tevva’s first customers in the EU. They have already received their electric trucks, which are perfectly capable of transporting various goods. In addition, in the UK, Tevva vehicles are used by the postal operator Royal Mail.
According to the manufacturer’s plans, about one thousand electric trucks will be sold in 2023. In addition, in the near future, there will be a hydrogen-powered version of the vehicle, which has a range of about 566 km. In 2024 Tevva will start production for the global market.
It should be noted that Tevva is the first British company that produces electric trucks for mass use. The manufacturer’s first model for the market will be TEV75. The truck has already passed comprehensive tests, after which it received approval from the EU.
The electric truck is equipped with a single-stage gearbox with a capacity of 192 kW. The torque is rated at 596 Nm. The battery has a quick charge capacity of 22 kW. The 190-inch wheelbase is designed to carry a payload of 2942 kg. The braking system is represented by disc brakes of regenerative and hydraulic type. Thanks to these parameters the braking capacity is increased.
The new hydrogen model will be equipped with a gas tank with a capacity of 9 kg, which is fully filled in just 10 minutes. The battery capacity in the truck will be 112 kWh, and the payload of the vehicle will be 2,718 kg.
The problem of carbon dioxide emissions is particularly acute for the transport sector, which accounts for a huge proportion of the world’s pollution. That is why many logistics companies are renewing their fleets with electric vehicles. This, in turn, increases the demand for electric trucks that can cover long distances without recharging.
Tevva offers products that are ideal for various transportation service tasks. The trucks are designed to carry a variety of products, and their battery can withstand a long trip on different types of roads, both within the city and in the countryside.
