Swedish concern Scania is planning a serious renewal of the model range

The Swedish concern

Swedish concern Scania announced the production of an improved truck

Swedish manufacturer Scania never stops caring about its customers. The automobile manufacturer strives to provide them with the best solutions for logistics challenges of any complexity. The concern is planning to release an updated version of the Euro 6 trucks. The decision was announced in advance, given the growing demand for vehicles and the problems of lack of semiconductors needed to produce the products.
In the first six months of 2021 Scania has demonstrated record sales of the current model range. However, there were delays in order fulfilment, caused by problems with the supply of semiconductors and other components of the product design. And this situation faced not only the Swedish concern, but also other automobile manufacturers.
Now Scania is preparing to radically update the model range, such large-scale changes will be recorded for the first time since 2016. Therefore the company considered it fair to warn customers about the upcoming modernization in advance, so they can postpone the purchase of trucks until the new release. Delivery dates for the new vehicles will be negotiated with each customer separately.
It is not yet fully known what upgrades await the trucks, but a Scania spokesman said that they will primarily affect fuel consumption. Fuel consumption will be significantly reduced compared with current levels. In addition, the trucks will have an improved chassis, which will generally improve driving performance.

It should be noted that for the last 5 years the manufacturer has been winning the status of “Green Truck of the Year”, which confirms the transport efficiency of the machine.
It is known that the new trucks with the engine capacity of 13 liters will come out next year, all the information and tools for the sale of products will reach the official representatives of the company before the end of the current period.
The trucks will be equipped with an improved transmission, which is designed to meet all the requirements of the Paris Convention. Scania is the first commercial vehicle manufacturer to create a roadmap where targets are set with the SBTi program in mind.
It should be noted that the company is not only improving conventional vehicles. Scania has received official permission from the Swedish Transport Agency to test an unmanned truck. Its tests are held on the freeway E4. Concern is working on this car in collaboration with the company TuSimple, which is engaged in development of autonomous vehicles.
It is assumed that the new weights will be used to transport goods needed for production purposes. For now, the vehicles move under the control of the driver, but after tests they will be able to carry out tasks with minimal human intervention. All information from the trucks is carefully analyzed and processed, which helps to eliminate current and future driving errors.
