Skoda plans to release a new electric crossover

Automobile manufacturer Skoda introduced new models, among which is a compact electric crossover. The model features a unique design, but so far there is very little information. The crossover does not yet have a name, and we can judge its appearance only from the teaser. It is only known that this crossover will be released by 2030, along with two other novelties.
We can judge the design of the electric car only by hints from the company and a blurry image that was unofficially presented.
The first things you can see are the square headlights and narrow taillights. Compared to previous models, the crossover seems slightly smaller in size. This decision smooths out the predatory look that is inherent in past Skoda cars of this type. It is still unclear whether engineers will keep the rearview mirrors or replace them with cameras. Experts agree on the latter option. It is possible that a similar model will appear in other brands belonging to Volkswagen, such as Seat.
Despite the fact that there are almost no details about the future crossover, it should be a symbol of the transformation of Skoda. It is assumed that the design of the new model will have features that are not characteristic of the company’s previous vehicles. The manufacturer promises that these changes will be the most significant since 1994 when Skoda joined Volkswagen. However, so far experts have not been able to see any revolutionary ideas from the designers in the blurry image.

Skoda electric crossover

Most likely, the new crossover will be based on the MEB platform, which is inherent in almost all-electric cars from Volkswagen. The other electric crossover from the Czech manufacturer – Enyaq – is equipped with this platform. At the beginning of this year, Skoda launched the production of the Enyaq iV electric SUV in Coupe modification. Now the car is available in four versions. RS-version, such a “charged” variant of the electric car, was the first for the brand. The new crossover is expected to be smaller than the Enyaq, the concept of which was presented in 2020.
The Enyaq Coupe iV is characterized by a sloping roof and a pointed rear end. The car is equipped with a fake radiator grille with diode lighting and matrix headlights. The base version of the crossover has 18-inch wheels, while the RS variant comes with 20-inch wheels. In addition, the RS updated the bumper design, and now it looks more aggressive. Engineers have also improved aerodynamics for the coupe. The length of the car is 4563 mm, width – is 1879 mm.
The interior is made in the standard Enyaq style, but the Coupe has sports seats. The cost of the crossover is 45 thousand euros, which is the most expensive model of the manufacturer.
