What makes the new generation of DAF Trucks unique
The Dutch manufacturer DAF Trucks has introduced a new generation of vehicles that meet all EU requirements for weight and dimensions of trucks. An important advantage of the XF, XG and XG+ models is their fuel efficiency and fuel economy.
The new range of trucks is equipped with an innovative system of passive and active safety. At the same time the vehicles combine not only excellent technical characteristics, but also provide comfort for the driver and stylish solutions in the design of the vehicle.
The cabin of the new trucks was lengthened in comparison with the previous range by 160 mm. Thanks to this the vehicle has better aerodynamics and a high level of safety. XG and XG+ belong to the premium class, here the back space in the cabin has been increased by 330 mm for drivers.
DAF Trucks vehicles are of high quality, and the new trucks have once again proved it. For the construction of the cab used strong, but light steel, used leather for trim, lighting is presented by energy-efficient LED lamps.
A special attention during the design of the new generation vehicles was paid to the passing and driving lights. In this case, the engineers developed the design with the quality of Six Sigma in mind.
Performance of the trucks has been confirmed by various tests and trials. In total, the vehicles have covered about 20 million kilometers, during which their efficiency, reliability and productivity were tested.
According to an official statement from DAF, the new models have a 10% higher fuel efficiency than previous products. At the same time, carbon dioxide emissions have been reduced, made possible by the application of computational fluid dynamics mechanisms. This has allowed the design of the cab to improve aerodynamic properties, with a curved windshield and large side windows. The cabin provides perfect sealing, the mirrors are replaced here by digital cameras. In addition, the airflow system is improved.
The trucks are equipped with innovative PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 engines, and advanced exhaust gas filtration system. As in previous models of the manufacturer, the trucks are equipped with automatic transmission TraXon, as well as intelligent systems that help drivers to control the vehicle.
In addition to the standard windows that provide a wide view, the company offers an option – the availability of a window to view the curb.
The digital camera system deserves special attention, which is an excellent alternative to wide-angle and standard mirrors. Another innovation is Corner View, which gives the driver the best view of the front pillar of the cab from the co-driver’s seat.
DAF has always been concerned about ergonomics in the cab, and in the new models it did not deviate from its principles. From the driver’s seat, the driver is in control of all the processes involved in driving the vehicle.
