New Krone mega trailers join the Efret fleet
Efret uses new Krone mega trailers to optimise journeys
Logistics company Efret is expanding its fleet to meet growing demand. The operator has purchased new mega trailers that will speed up the transport of goods on various routes.
The company’s trailers, manufactured by the German company Krone, were delivered to the operator in June 2024. The trailers are already transporting goods. This equipment is most in demand by customers in the following sectors:
- retail;
- automotive industry;
- manufacturers of packaging materials.
In the future, the logistics company plans to expand its delivery routes with the new transport. This will optimise operations and expand transport options across the continent.
Benefits of trailers
Efret is expanding its fleet to meet the growing needs of the market. The company chose mega trailers because they offer some advantages:
- offer more capacity than standard trailers;
- allow transporting more cargo per trip;
- mega trailers will enable the company to reduce the number of transports on one route;
- the use of such vehicles helps to reduce fuel and operating costs.
Mega trailers have a well-thought-out design, which makes them versatile. These vehicles are suitable for transporting oversized, high loads or irregularly shaped products. This makes the trailers ideal for transporting products from various industries.
Intermodal compatibility deserves special attention. The design of the vehicles meets all the requirements of the adopted XL Code, making it easy to switch from road to rail. This is particularly important in light of the government’s efforts to achieve carbon neutrality. Mega trailers are ideal for building a sustainable transport system on long-distance routes. Efret, for example, is already using the new models for transport on the Calais-Perpignan railway line.
According to Alain Gestin of Efret, the logistics market in Europe is recovering. This, in turn, is leading to an expansion in the activities of transport companies. However, the sector must develop with new approaches. This is the only way to achieve a qualitative transformation of processes.
In this context, Efret has opted to reduce the number of journeys. At the same time, the company has sought to improve operational efficiency and service levels. The best way to do this was to add new mega trailers to the fleet. Jestine believes this type of transport is an excellent investment for the company’s future growth. Reducing the number of trips on one route opens up significant opportunities to expand deliveries on other routes. In addition, the company intends to increase long-haul transport by road and rail.
