Iveco electric vans will operate in low-emission zones

One of the main challenges facing the transport sector is the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions. The French group Jacky Perrenot has taken a step in this direction. It has purchased Iveco electric vans for its subsidiary VIR by JP. The fleet upgrade should help the company to operate in low-emission zones (ZFE).

VIR by JP has received forty new environmentally friendly vans that will reduce the company’s impact on the environment. In addition, the vans are quiet, which is also a positive contribution to the overall conservation effort.

The company hopes that the vans will enable it to speed up the process of achieving zero emissions. This is in line with EU standards set for cars and commercial vehicles by 2035.

Features of the electric vans

VIR has added eDailys to its fleet, which will be used for home deliveries. They will primarily deploy the vehicles in and around Paris. They will also take on some tasks in Bordeaux and Salon-de-Provence. Each van will travel up to 150 kilometres per day, charging overnight at the base.

The electric vans have the following features:

  • a new generation chassis;
  • 23 cubic metre cabin;
  • the vehicle has a 3-battery power supply;
  • the range is approximately 330 km;
  • the vehicles come with an electric motor with an output of 140 kW or 190 hp;
  • torque of 400 Nm.

The eDaily series trucks combine good productivity with comfortable handling.

In 2024, the model won the Best Electric Van 2024 competition. The judges recognized the vehicle as the best in the Innovation and Efficiency categories. Experts praised the vehicle’s versatility for the commercial sector. The van is designed with energy efficiency and logistics in mind. It can travel long distances on a single charge. The advanced chassis increases durability and reduces running costs.

The vehicle can reach speeds of up to 120 km/h. The Hi-Power function allows you to increase performance depending on the quality and type of road surface. The eDaily is available in a range of versions from 3.5 to 7.2 tonnes. The towing capacity is the same as its diesel counterpart.

The system combines batteries in a modular way. This allows the owner to adjust the range and choose the best charging option. This approach also helps to optimise the cost of using the van.

Another advantage of the model is the possibility of remote charging and climate control.
