Daewoo Trucks’ new vehicle overview
Korean manufacturer Daewoo Trucks presented at the exhibition new products – two models of dump trucks, a tractor, and a concrete mixer truck. All of them are equipped with the DX12 engine, which is the latest development of the company.
The axle arrangement of Daewoo Novus CL4T8 is a 6×4 tractor, which weighs 9.4 tons. The total weight of the truck is 75 tons. Engineers strengthened the suspension and equipped it with leaf springs especially for the new truck, so the truck can easily handle different types of surfaces. The front axle is rated up to 7,1 tons, rear – is up to 26 tons. At the same time, the fifth wheel system can withstand up to 20 tons.
The engine of the new generation DX12 has six cylinders and 440 horsepower. It belongs to the “Euro-5” class, which is considered environmentally friendly. The tractor is equipped with an improved braking system and gearbox. The fuel tank holds 400 liters, the vehicle is able to reach speeds of up to 85 km/h.
The presented dump truck CL7D7 with a 6×4 wheel configuration is able to carry a load of 24.8 tons, while the permissible mass of the equipment is 39.3 tons. The truck has a similar engine and tank volume as the CL4T8 and a 9-speed gearbox.
Another new model from the manufacturer is a mixer truck CL7M3 with a capacity of 23.79 tons and a permissible weight of 38 tons. The truck can carry 9 cubic meters of construction mix. There is an optimal distribution of load on the axle elements, resulting in improved steerability of the vehicle compared to the models of the previous generation, and improved characteristics of the running gear.
To reduce operating costs, the manufacturer has equipped concrete mixing plants with a chassis engine drive. In addition, this solution allowed to reduce the cost of the vehicle, compared with similar variants. In this case, the DX12 engine has 390 horsepower and 9-speed transmission. The fuel tank holds up to 400 liters, and the water tank – up to 600 liters.
In addition to these products, a flatbed truck, which is made in partnership with Hyundai, was demonstrated at the exhibition. The truck is equipped with a chassis from Daewoo Novus CL7AF, and the crane-manipulator is presented here by Hyundai model Everdigm 8016. The carrying capacity of the truck is 13 tons, and the total weight is 29.1 tonnes. The truck is equipped with a Doosan DL08K engine with 350 horsepower, Euro-5 class. The 6-speed transmission is made by the Korean company Tongil.
The Daewoo Trucks concern has long been present on the world market, and during this time has established itself as a reliable manufacturer of vehicles for the logistics industry and special equipment.
