German transport company Dachser offers a new route along the Central Corridor

German transport operator Dachser

Dachser found an alternative to the New Silk Road

German company Dachser is expanding its options for shipping cargo from China to Europe. The operator changed one of its rail routes after sanctions were imposed on two European countries and communication with them was halted.
Dachser now transports via the Central Corridor, which includes the use of several types of transport. The starting point of the route is Xi’an, the endpoint is Budapest. From China the shipment travels by rail through Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, then through ports in the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea, the containers are transported by ship to Romania. There, they are reloaded by rail again and arrive in Hungary. From Budapest, shipments can be shipped to other countries by rail. They are delivered to terminals in Austria, Germany, and other countries. Dachser does this shipment twice a week, and the duration of shipment is 45-55 days.
The transportation of cargo along the Central Corridor is a good alternative to the New Silk Road, transportation along which is currently impossible due to the sanctions imposed. At the same time, the quality of services provided by the new route is not inferior to the traditional routes from Dachser. Containers are equipped with a modern GPS tracking system, which eliminates the risk of theft or loss of cargo.
