What is the i Vision Circular electric car from BMW
BMW in Munich presented a unique novelty – the i Vision Circular. The electric car is made of environmentally friendly materials, and it is fully recyclable. The body elements are made of recycled plastic and aluminum, for the tires they used rubber, which was grown in environmentally friendly conditions.
The length of the car is about 4 meters, the specialists created the interior furnishings on a 3D printer, so there is no need to use a lot of auxiliary elements and details. In addition, this option of interior arrangement reduces the amount of glue used, which also follows the principles of environmental friendliness. Rivets, fasteners and cords are used to connect the components, allowing for quick removal of fasteners and easy disassembly.
As for the technical characteristics of the car, the i Vision Circular is equipped with a new generation battery, which provides an excellent density of energy storage. Like the other elements of the electric car, the battery is fully recyclable.
According to BMW representatives, their new creation is a transport of the future, which provides comfort and meets environmental principles. However, experts doubt that such an electric car will go into serial production. Most likely, the main idea of its creation is not functionality or practicality, but to draw attention to pollution problems and recycling issues in the automotive industry. The i Vision Circular is a concept that demonstrates a step into the future and the direction that the company has chosen to launch new models. According to BMW, today’s class of electric cars should not only be environmentally friendly in terms of zero carbon emissions, but also in terms of recycling. Right now, car recycling is still imperfect, many parts are not fully recyclable, and this needs to change.
According to official data, the automotive industry uses no more than 30% of recycled materials. However, the situation is gradually changing, and by 2050 this share should increase to 50%. The issue of increasing recycled elements is part of the global strategy to reduce carbon emissions. In addition, BMW explains that this problem also requires attention in terms of cost-effectiveness and the opportunity to save on raw materials and consumables in car production.
Like other major car companies, the German company is actively developing electric vehicles. According to the plans, in 2025 BMW will present a new line of electric cars, which is being developed within the concept of Power of Choice. The latter involves popularization of eco-friendly cars and introduction of more than 7 million electric and hybrid cars to the market. The new line will use advanced technologies and will pay special attention to increasing the battery capacity.
